Dean's Message

Dear Students, Academics and Visitors,

Health sciences represent one of the most vital disciplines dedicated to enhancing the quality of human life. The Faculty of Health Sciences at Iğdır University was established in 2019. Within the scope of our faculty, the Departments of Nutrition and Dietetics, Child Development, Midwifery, Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Nursing, and Audiology were founded in 2020. Our faculty began admitting students in the 2020–2021 academic year with the Department of Nursing, followed by the Departments of Nutrition and Dietetics and Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in the 2021–2022 academic year. We proudly celebrated the graduation of our first students in the 2023–2024 academic year. Currently, with 23 academic staff members and over 800 students, three of our departments continue to actively engage in education and student admissions on the Iğdır University Karaağaç Campus. As a faculty, we are committed to educating healthcare professionals who are equipped with contemporary knowledge, guided by ethical principles, and grounded in a strong sense of social responsibility.

University education holds great significance in the journey of self-realization and the development of professional identity. Our educational philosophy, informed by science, offers a learning process that integrates research, innovation, and practical skills. We aim to ensure that our students are not only professionally competent but also possess ethical sensitivity, empathy, and social awareness. With its dedicated academic staff, well-equipped laboratories, internship opportunities, and national and international collaborations, our faculty provides students with a broad and forward-thinking perspective in the field of health. We wholeheartedly believe that our students will flourish in this academic environment.

Since the dawn of humanity, people have faced various diseases and natural disasters. Extraordinary situations such as the global pandemic in 2020 have further highlighted the indispensable role of health sciences in society. As a faculty, it is our greatest wish that the young students receiving education in health sciences today will become the competent, compassionate, and successful healthcare professionals of tomorrow. I wish success and beauty accompany each step you take on this path.

Our doors are always open to those who cherish learning, embrace innovation, and humanity. We warmly invite all students and academics who aspire to make a meaningful impact in the field of health to join us in collaboration.

I extend my heartfelt greetings to you all and wish you a successful, healthy, and fulfilling academic life.
