About Us

Iğdır University Faculty of Health Sciences was established by the Presidential Decree No. 1773, dated 10/11/2019, published in the Official Gazette No. 30945 on 11/11/2019.

Iğdır University Faculty of Health Sciences operates as an innovative and contemporary educational institution aimed at training qualified human resources in the field of health. Our faculty aims to equip students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills while training future healthcare professionals in nursing, midwifery, dietetics, physiotherapy, and other health sciences fields.

With its expert academic staff, modern educational approach, and up-to-date technological infrastructure, our faculty provides students with high-quality education that meets national and international standards. Our faculty carries the mission of training healthcare professionals who are responsible, embrace ethical values, and can think scientifically, with a focus on the effective delivery of healthcare services and the protection of public health.

Our faculty, aiming to contribute to public health not only through education and training but also through scientific research, undertakes projects that can provide solutions to the region's health issues. Additionally, our faculty strives to provide students with a global vision through national and international collaborations.


With the letter of the Council of Higher Education (Yükseköğretim Kurulu Başkanlığı) dated 10.02.2020 and numbered 75850160-101.03.01-E.10592, the following departments have been established:

Faculty of Health Sciences

  • Department of Nutrition and Dietetics
  • Department of Child Development
  • Department of Midwifery
  • Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation
  • Department of Nursing
  • Department of Audiology

With the decision of the Council of Higher Education, the Nursing Department began accepting students starting from the Fall semester of the 2020-2021 academic year. After the Nursing Department was authorized to admit 60 Turkish students and 40 international students, it started education with 62 Turkish students and 13 international students, totaling 75 students.

Starting from the 2021-2022 academic year, the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation began admitting students.
